Zodiacal light and Snowy Mountains night shoot 17 September 2017

Last Sunday I conducted a astrophotography workshop taking full advantage of the dark skies to the south of Canberra. The first shot is of Orroral Homestead which was built in 1860 with the triangular white glow of the Zodiacal light beaming over the surrounding hills like a person holding a gigantic torch. The second shot is of a gnarled snowgum taken later that night in the Cooma area from an altitude of 1100 metres. The Sn

owgum was guarding the ridge overlooking the Monara plains like a Sentinel. The final shot is a 21 shot pano of the Milky way. SOme nice green airglow can be seen plus lights from some smal towns in the area.
